As part of the “science for all” series of lectures given by scientific volunteers from the“science pour Tous 06” association, the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer invites you to meet: Friday November 15 at 6:30pm at the Maison des Associations – 7 Av. de l’Hôtel de Ville, on the theme “Understanding normal and pathological aging of our brain Hosted by Mounia Chami

Free admission – All ages 15 and up.

Cerebral aging is a long process in which certain brain regions are structurally altered by a loss of adaptation or compensation during the process.

Brain ageing is accelerated in the case of neurodegenerative diseases, but also by so-called peripheral pathologies such as type II diabetes, and by intellectual activity and lifestyle. The impact of age on brain aging varies from person to person. The aim of this seminar is to present some normal and pathological biological aspects of brain aging.

Mounia Chami is a research fellow at the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM). She heads a team at the Institut de Pharmacologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IPMC), affiliated to the CNRS and the Université Côte d’Azur. The Dr. Mounia Chami studies the pathophysiological mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease.
