in the presence of Roger Roux, President of the Commission thématique Activités Portuaires at Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, Mayor of Beaulieu-sur-Mer

Cagnes-sur-Mer’s Port du Cros is a Mediterranean gem that combines tradition and dynamism.

This picturesque fishing port, with its activities and associations, is a true testament to the region’s maritime history.

It’s renowned for its dynamism and its heritage boats, veritable naval treasures that bear witness to the region’s rich maritime past.
Today, they are preserved and enhanced by enthusiasts who strive to perpetuate ancestral know-how.
In 2019, the Mayor of Cagnes sur Mer and the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis decided to create a “heritage quay”.
to showcase these boats of heritage interest (B.I.P).
Up to 8 of these boats will be permanently on the quay.

Today, we’d like to showcase not only these historic ships, but also all the people involved in bringing the port of Le Cros de Cagnes-sur-Mer to life.
That’s why we’re creating this permanent exhibition on the port.
presenting both the port’s key players and boats of heritage interest.

Heritage boats are not only collectors’ items, they are also vehicles for transmitting maritime culture.
They are regularly launched at events and sea outings, providing a unique spectacle for visitors and locals alike.

The Aventure Pluriel association plays a key role in preserving and promoting this maritime heritage.
The association, made up of passionate volunteers, is dedicated to restoring and maintaining these traditional boats.
It also organizes outings and educational workshops to help as many people as possible discover the sailing techniques of yesteryear.

But it’s not the only player involved in port activities.
The professional fishermen, the associations of Pleasure Fishermen, the Moana, the Rame San Peire, the lifeguards at sea (SNSM), but also the municipal sailing school and the International University of the Sea regularly organize events in the port, contributing to its dynamism.

In this way, the Port du Cros de Cagnes-sur-Mer continues to live to the rhythm of tradition, while looking to the future and preserving its environment.

The Port du Cros in Cagnes-sur-Mer is much more than just a fishing port.
It’s a place for living, sharing and transmitting, where maritime heritage is preserved and promoted by committed players.
It’s a place where you can admire heritage boats, discover the sailing techniques of yesteryear, and get involved in preserving the environment.
