The exhibition by this Cagnoise artist at the Château-Musée Grimaldi explores a rich production dominated by the color black, through a selection of some forty works (paintings, sculptures, installations, works on paper).
The exhibition takes visitors on an inner journey, revealing the complexity of the color black. Fascinating, enigmatic and radical, it is a means of introspection and poetic expression for the artist.
When working with the color black, it’s hard not to think of Pierre Soulages (1919-2022), who wrote: “We’re always on the lookout for two equally dangerous things: order and disorder”. DomiH adds: “Does black allow us to reveal ourselves less? Or, on the contrary, does its darkness offer a dazzling clarity of “the truth”, my truth, your truth? In the end, isn’t it this duality that black provokes?
On this occasion, artist DomiH shares with the public “his” variations on the color black, its nuances and uses. Its intensity changes according to the dimensions of the support, shape and texture. As a result, each work is a unique experience.
